Are sororities and fraternities in accordance with the teachings of the Bible? - sorority practices
I am really struggling to put my faith into line, and my desire to join a fraternity. What is your reaction to claims that fraternities and sororities do not adhere to the teachings of the Bible, that is, ritual practices, idolatry, administer oaths to other things, Christian, etc.?

No, a sorority is not for you if you have a group of Christian brotherhood, etc. Connect
Sororities are enough places to meet friends and party. It is a way to reduce the amount immediately popular, and invites Parties Frat. If the drinking and partying is not for you, this is definitely not a guild for you. I think that would be best to join a group of Campus Chrisitan.
Many businesses are based on Christian values. You have to be done, what you do not want to do. Most of these people responded probably never take part in Greek life. It is not mandatory for members of a fraternity, drink, and promscious.
Well, first not, please listen to people say things about the members of fraternities and sororities, with one exception. There are many cliches, yes, but many of them wrong!
Greek groups vary from school to school, and chapter to chapter. Some may stereotype, but most are not. Whether you're in college, I'm sure it's at least one group that is compatible, or at least open to moral and faith.
My advice is to go through the settings to meet different groups and see where you feel comfortable. It can not be equal to your needs, but I'm pretty sure it will be.
In addition, numerous groups that are based on Christian ideals, even if not strictly adhered to today. They make you do something, if it against their religion. They know that it can arrange a wide variety of religions and the people be of one faith, and yet in a position to be sisters. My guild has done Christians, Jews and atheists, and we are all good.
There are specifically Christian brotherhoods in some schools and there are also Christian groups in most schools, to bind themselves, and a fraternity. I and some of my friends are as an organization for Christians in our school and the rest of the group is predominantly Greek, too!
Today, most groups of Greeks are aware that it can not compel someone something that they do not believe in ritual, are not dangerous or anything, just that many songs and chant traditions.
Basically that if you join a fraternity, you are likely to Christians and non Christians (unless specifically binds) to a Christian. Most guilds do not do it in the future be different faith or something to their morale is not compromised, and if they do, while the Brotherhood is not just right for you. Good luck!
There are many stereotypes about fraternities and sororities exist. First, I want to assure you that there are many groups do not practice idolatry, or anything that could be terribly offensive to their personal beliefs. The key is to look at the mouth of the brotherhoods and know where you feel comfortable. Perhaps there is someone in your church who have joined a fraternity, and explain how the chapter deals with various topics, as promised, sororities, etc. are not for everyone, but offers many wonderful community services, comfort and support from others, etc. . .... the same values that we as Christians are responsible for the practice.
Frankly, I do not think so! should be a genuine and full of faith to join a religious group if you want to put their faith in line :-)
